| Cambridge and it's history! Slate roofs, copper downspouts, cedar clapboards and all those gingerbread shingles. We found this residence covered mostly with 1960's vintage aluminum siding, which did a pretty reasonable job of hiding the conditions of the original clapboards beneath. The project involved removing practically all the original siding and trim and starting from scratch.

| We had the task of replicating many of the components from what was left of the originals. There was even the remnants of a large window pediment behind the siding without enough detail to even guess what it may have looked like, until the Architect discovered another home in the neighborhood, almost identical in design with a surviving pediment. With the Owner's permission, we measured through the 100+ years of paint and replicated the pediment for our project.
