In our meeting with the Teens at the club the girls decided that they wanted a place they could Chill, a place to sit and chat, a place to watch a movie, a place to dance.

From the exterior the space was intended to look like a somewhat run down old brick building that had been retrofitted into a theater. Plenty of seating for the teens was a priority, therefore the park benches and converted fire hydrants.
The interior was meant to be both warm and comfortable as well as high tech. A small counselor's office occupies a corner of the space from where the theater lighting, sound system and video systems are all controlled by computer. The furniture is removable to accomodate dances, and a small stage is included for the teen's own shows
Throughout the spaces are subtle hints encouraging the teens to live their lives to the fullest. This bit of grafitti, done by Pat Pollard, a local artist, is self explanatory, as is the lyric from John Mellancamp's 'Jack and Diane' which appears above the counlselor's office door.
